Obituary

Colleen Louise Gartenmayer, age 68, entered eternal rest on December 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind generations who were deeply blessed by her kindness, strength, and unconditional love. Colleen was born on November 20, 1957. Colleen was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she always placed the needs of her loved ones before her own. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Many of her grandchildren spent summers and afternoons after school there, finding comfort, care, and unconditional love. Nana's house was a place of safety and belonging, and she played a vital role in shaping the lives of all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace knowing she is now reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her. Colleen will be remembered for her gentle heart, quiet strength, and the selfless love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched. Funeral services will be held on December 22nd from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Dean Lopez Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3322 Riviera Drive.
Colleen is survived by her loving husband, Edward Dominic Gartenmayer; her three children, Eric Gartenmayer (Milagros Gartenmayer), Edward Gartenmayer Jr., and Debra Gartenmayer Avila; and her cherished grandchildren, Edward Raul Gartenmayer, Priscilla Gartenmayer, Dylan Gartenmayer, Eric Gartenmayer Jr., Justin Gartenmayer, Haley Gartenmayer, and Erica Avila. She is also survived by her beloved great-grandchildren, Edward Raul Gartenmayer Jr., Josie Marie Cruz, and Eric Charles Gartenmayer III, who brought her immense joy. Colleen is further survived by her siblings, Roy K. Toomer, Edwin "Eddie" Toomer, and Jeanie T. Roberts. She will also be deeply missed by her sisters-in-law, Lisa Druckmiller, widow of Dana Druckmiller; Kathy Reick, wife of Bill Reick; and Ana DeSantis, widow of Sam DeSantis. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Toomer Cooper; her father, Earl J. "Pete" Toomer; her stepfather, Samuel S. Cooper; and her brothers, Earl J. "Butch" Toomer III and Richard E. Toomer.
