Emily Jo Pine, age 85, died on Friday, December 27, 2024 after a brief illness.  Jo was born on May 4, 1939 to Gladys (Johnson) and Leonard Gilley, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.  Her father died when she was 2 years old and her mother married Lyle Bloomquist, her dad.  Jo graduated from University of Wisconsin with a degree in physical therapy.  After graduation she worked with veterans and later concentrated working with mental and physically challenged children and adults. Jo married Gary Pine, who was in the Air Force and they moved to Key West.  She was executive director of Easter Seals in the Keys, executive director of the Helpline, board member of MARC, Wesley House and Zonta.  She was an active member of the Key West United Methodist Church.  She is predeceased by her husband Gary, her parents and nephew, Joshua Bloomquist.  She is survived by her brothers Len (Jeanne) Gilley of Michigan and Jim (Leeza) Bloomquist of Pennsylvania, nephews Eric (Camille) Gilley of Tennessee, Sean (Jill) Gilley of Colorado, James Bloomquist Jr. of Illinois and many grand nephews and nieces and cousins, A family gathering will take place this summer in northern Wisconsin.  Donations may be made to Wesley House or MARC House in Key West.
