Haskins, Sr

FREDERICK ANTHONY HASKINS SR.
Key West - Heavens ready for Freddy!
Frederick Anthony Haskins sr (Freddy) was born on
December 11, 1941 to Graciela Chacon and Pa Willie
Haskins. He was raised on Petronia st in Key west. Freddy
met his wife, Kathleen Haskins at the Mary Immaculate
convent in high school and married her August 10,1963.
He worked as a plumber at Robert's Plumbing for 36 years
before moving on to Boca Chica Naval Air station, and
finally to Florida Keys aqueduct until he retired in 2008.
Freddy loved anything to do with the boat, his Chevy pick up truck, his 2nd
home in North Carolina where he spent a lot of time with his tractor taking
people on hay rides. Fred was known for his sharp sense of humor, dedication
to his wife and our family. He never knew a stranger, and he had an ability to
make everyone feel like they were the most pretty and interesting person in the
room. He was known by many names such as Coach, Cubmaster, &
Scoutmaster. His talents were many but mostly sharpened were his skills with
his woodcarvings and birds. If you knew Freddy, you have experienced one of
his world famous hugs and multiple kisses and at one time were probably called
his girlfriend. You are probably also familiar with the situation of American
Bananas in Cuba. As you know they are constrivuating, slippery and appealing.
He was preceded in his death by his Father Pa Willie, Step Father, Armando
(GI) Rodriguez, his mom Grace, his brother Henry (Linda), Brother in law Emil
(Tuffy) Roberts and brother in law Kenneth Waite. He has survived by his wife
of 60 years Kathy, children Freddy Jr (Christy), Tommy (Brenda Lynn), Anna
Marie and Ricky (Mike Kies). Grandchildren Michael Frederick, Allison (Josh),

Aaron Frazier(Heather), great-grandchildren Skyla, Riley, Liam, EJ, Ellie,

Lillian Waite. And many cousins including the Roberts, Herce & Barroso
families. And also many unofficially adopted friends and acquaintances that he
made feel like family.
There will be a viewing at Dean Lopez Funeral Home on Thursday January
