Obituary

Ilse Grete Seichter, born Ilse Grete Albers passed away peacefully on December 19th, 2024, with her husband of 57 years by her side.

Ilse was born on October 30th, 1942, in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. She was the youngest of four children; two brothers, Frido and Rollie, and a sister, Karin. She graduated from Property Management School with a degree as Certified Property Manager.

While working at a Property Management firm in Berlin, she met her husband, Rolf. It was love at first sight, and they were married on August 17th, 1968. They lived in Munich for two years and four in Berlin. They relocated to the US, with two little boys in tow, in 1976 settling in Tewksbury, Mass, welcoming their third son several years later. Despite arriving in an entirely new culture and limited English, Ilse's outgoing personality, sense of humor, and kind nature helped her make lifelong friendships. Her Craft Club/Lancaster Drive girlfriends may have not actually have made many crafts, but they have loved and supported one another for over six decades.

While raising her boys, Ilse also spent over two decades driving a school van for Transportation Collaborative, where she made lifelong friends and met many families. Her heart and humor, and incredible strength and bravery will be deeply missed.

Ilse was a kind and generous mother and friend. She was an avid gardener and spent most days immersed in her labor of love, tending to her beautiful gardens. A number of years ago, Ilse and Rolf relocated full-time to Port St. Lucie, Florida for warmer temps, regular walks on the beach and, of course, an unending growing season.

What made Ilse most proud was seeing her three sons become successful men. The driving force of her life was her unwavering support of them and ensuring their happiness.

Ilse is survived by her Husband, Rolf, her sister, Karin, her three sons, Chris, Rob and Tom, along with their loving families, including 7 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends across the globe.

Donations in her honor can be made to the American Cancer Society.
