Obituary

Joseph Leonard LaVache 69, of Key West, FL passed away on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at his residents. He was born at Fort Stewart, Georgia to the late Emil and Bernice LaVache. Joe's parents Emil J. LaVache and his wife Bernice were longtime Keys residents. His father served in the United States Army for 27 years of service retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. His father then worked for Monroe County Sheriffs Department as a Sheriffs Deputy for over 30 years. Joe followed his father and served in the United States Army. He served in several foreign embassies as well as foreign bases to include Korea, Germany, Turkey, Egypt, Australia, and Haiti in the field of Logistics. He retired from the Army as Lieutenant Colonel after 26 years of service. After retirement he moved to Key West and took a position at JIATF South and retired as chief plans and operations for J4. Surviving is his wife Lori-Anne Lamirande and her children Lindsay B.A. Cole, David R. Cole, USMC retired, Ryan L.C. Cole, Hillary Anne F. Cole. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Becky Palmer. Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Animal Farm. Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
