Josephine “Jo” McKinney, 71, passed away on May 9, 2026.

Jo was a longtime resident of Key West and a familiar face to many throughout the community. Known for her sharp wit, intelligence, and wonderful sense of humor, she had a gift for making people feel welcome wherever she went.For many years, Jo worked at West Marine, where she served as assistant manager and built strong relationships with both coworkers and customers. Her dedication, kindness, and expertise earned her the respect and admiration of many.Jo lived a spirited life, embracing new experiences, challenges, friendships, and the unique beauty of the Keys. Whether through her work, travels, or the many stories and laughs she shared, she left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.For more than 40 years, Jo shared a deep and devoted partnership with her husband, Michael. They built their life together out of love, adventure, loyalty, laughs, and a mountain of cherished memories.Jo will be remembered for her joy, strength, and the genuine connections she made with people. She was an exceptional woman. She leaves behind countless family and friends who will miss her always. Though her absence is profoundly felt, her legacy lives on in everyone she touched.Michael will share the details of Jo's Celebration of Life, at a later date once arrangements are made.
