Maria Galvan, 91, of Key West, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024. She was born in Havana, Cuba on April 9th, 1933, to Antonio and Aurora Perez, being one of 7 beloved children. Maria was married to the late Gumersindo Galvan for over 50 wonderful years, creating countless memories and a legacy of love together.

Maria, affectionately known as Maruca, had a zest for life that was unmatched. She found joy in traveling the world and dancing to the rhythms of life.

Among her greatest treasures were her grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly.

Maria is survived by her loving sons, George (Jean Marie) Galvan, David (Susie) Galvan, Pedro (Diana) Galvan, and Jose Galvan. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her 6 grandchildren: Julio (Christie) Galvan, Diane "Bibi" (Frank) Tucciarone, Cathy (Robbie) Tate, Anthony (Emily) Galvan, Kendall Galvan, and Lexi Galvan, as well as her 8 great-grandchildren.

Maria's presence will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

A memorial service to celebrate Maria's life will be held at the Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea Key West Catholic Church, in Key West, Florida on Wednesday, May 15th at 11 am.
