Regla "Reglita" Ferrer passed away peacefully January 12, 2025.  She was born March 8, 1925 at Regla, Cuba to the late Teotista and Antonio Valdes.  She was the fifth of six siblings, all deceased.  Regla migrated to New York City at the age of 17, married and had a daughter Amelia Roberts.  Two years later they moved to Key West to be close to her sister.  She married Carlos Tatata Ferrer and had Carlos Ferrer, Jr in 1956 deceased.  She is survived by her daughter, grandkids Christina Pumar Delrio, Yvette Carlos III, greats; Leslie, Gaby, Ricky, Mariah, Antini, Luna and new great great Eleini Sol.  Everyone that knew Reglita knew how much life there was in her.  Everyone knew of her love for dancing family and friends, and that's what she did till she was 94!  After 94 she had several falls and head traumas that totally slowed her down till dementia set in.  She was cared for at home by her daughter and Tommy that indulged her every whim for the next five years.  I want to express my gratitude to Island Home Care, Dr. Tingle and Hospice, for all the care and help they gave me.  Memorial service is planned Saturday April 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home 418 Simonton Street Key West, FL.  A celebration of life will take place at Meson de Pepe at Mallory Square 8 p.m.
