Salvador Farina passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2023 at his home in Key West. His wife and companion of 25 years, Norma Valdes, was at his side along with his children and close friends. Salvador was born in Havana, Cuba on March 13, 1934, the son of Salvador Farina and Micaela Valenzuela.

Salvador Farina is a veteran of the Cuban Revolution of 1959 and later became a political prisoner under Fidel Castro's regime. He was exiled from Cuba in 1965, bringing his wife Margarita Power and daughter Zoe Farina to start a new life in the United States. They soon settled in Key West where he lived and worked for the next fifty-eight years. Salvador later married Noemi 'Mimi' Rodriguez and together they raised Richard and Daniel Farina in Key West. Salvador was a master mechanic who owned and operated auto repair businesses, worked as a mechanic for the Conch Train Company, and in his retired life worked for the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Salvador is a 32nd Degree Freemason and life member of the Key West Masonic Lodge Number 64. He valued the Masonic brotherhood and community spirit offered through his lodge, and this Masonic comradery from his brothers was an important part of his life.

He is survived by his wife Norma Valdes, his son Jesus Farina, daughter Zoe Marlene Farina-Daley, sons Richard and Daniel Farina, and grandchildren Daniel Daley and Dircia Farina. Services will be held at the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home at 418 Simonton in Key West. Visitation will be Friday August 25th from 6-8pm, and funeral services will be Saturday August 26th at 2pm.
