Samuel Pierre Remy, age 63, of Key West, FL fell asleep in death on May 6, 2024. He was born in St. Marc, Haiti on November 25, 1960 to Telson Pierre Remy and Marina Axcida. He immigrated to the United States in the early 1990s for greater opportunities for himself and his family. He worked in the kitchen at the Casa Marina for many years before moving on to environmental services at Lower Keys Medical Center where he was a familiar face for 20 years. Sam was known as a dedicated husband, a devoted father, and a loyal friend. He was always willing to offer a helping hand. Sam was a hard worker and he was especially proud to be a part of the LKMC family. In his leisure time, Sam enjoyed trying new foods, traveling to Haiti, and going to the beach. He loved to laugh, joke around, and make new friends. He will truly be missed. Sam is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gerda Pierre Remy; his children: Bonnie, Acola, Rebecca, Guyson, Schoopoo, Chantal, Robert, and Marinaka Pierre Remy; sisters: Marie Solange Willy and Adrienne Pierre Remy; and countless nieces, nephews, grandchildren and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home 418 Simonton St. Key West, FL. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday May 17, 2024 at the funeral home. The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
