With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stephanie (Skoko) Rains, who passed away on June 8, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on June 12, 1949, Stephanie carried a deep love for her family, her Key West heritage, and the traditions that connected generations. Stephanie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George J. and Margaret (Knowles) Skoko, and her brother, Michael Ivan Skoko. She is survived by her devoted husband, Rick Rains; her daughter, Sohmer (Richie) Knowles; her son, Cole Wynter (Kelly) Rains; her siblings, Gwen (Jack) Hughes, Deborah (Steve) Henson, and Tommy (Patty) Skoko; and her beloved grandchildren, Sophia Knowles, Emma Knowles, Olivia Knowles, Isla Knowles, Logan Rains, Tessa Rains, Lillian Coble, and Skyler Rains. She is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Stephanie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She appreciated art, enjoyed drawing, and had a great love for music. She also enjoyed taking drives in her red Mini Cooper, as well as savoring life's quieter moments. Her strength, determination, unforgettable stories, vibrant personality, and deep love for her family created a legacy that will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved her. She will be forever in our hearts, deeply missed, and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
