Obituary

Vernon Cedric Stroble, Jr. (aka Vern), 91, of Key West, passed away on August 18, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1934, in Nocatee, Florida, to Vernon Cedric Stroble, Sr. and Helen Sherouse.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Vernon faithfully served his country for 25 years, from 1952 until his retirement in 1977, including honorable service during the Vietnam War. After completing his military career, he pursued higher education, earning his Associate in Science degree in 1979 from Florida Keys Community College.

Following his studies, Vernon applied his skills and passion for the sea to a successful career in marine electronics. From 1984 until 2020, he worked as a Marine Technician through his company, Triangle Marine Electronics located on Stock Island, where he built a reputation for knowledge, precision, and integrity.

Vernon shared 51 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Samarng Sawarng-Arom Stroble, whom he met while stationed in Thailand during his military career. Together they created a life full of love, dedication, and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Flora Louise Mathis, and his sons, Vernon Cedric Stroble, III and Victor Allen Stroble.

He is survived by his children: Nika Stroble (Angel Rodriguez), Yvette Walker (Zhurn), and Colette Bruce (Joe); grandchildren Aryana, Alisha, Devon, Ashlyn, Shannon, Joey, and Josh; along with many great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a large extended family, and many friends who will remember him with love and gratitude.

Vernon will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his quiet strength, and his devotion to both his family and his country. His life was one of service, honor, and love, and his memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dean-Lopez Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Dean-Lopez Funeral Home
